the plungebucket concept becoming a reality - starting in summer 2021
Plungers & Buckets...really? Who knew this would be such a phenomenon???
It all started when Jeff created a tossing challenge for foursomes at a golf outing using a few buckets and some plungers. It was just a simple concept at that time, but was clearly interesting to players on the course. It turned quite a few heads and was enough to keep developing it a little further.
Jeff continued to build on the concept by clamping the buckets together (the first official assembly was LITERALLY done inside a Home Depot right in the aisle) and adding the scoring system. The realization of The Plunket, or infamous..."Kill Shot"...was a beautiful moment. It added a new fun element. From there, he brought it to family gatherings, parks, beer gardens and vacation spots throughout the US to have others try out the game. It was clear that PlungeBucket was a hit! So he applied for a patent and started taking it more seriously.
At a family Memorial Day outing in Delavan, cousin Hoyt played the game. After the gathering, he decided to reach out to Jeff. He said something like...''if you ever want some help getting that plunger game off the ground, I'm In.'' And Jeff said something like...''heck yeah, let's do it.'' Hoyt was the engineer and created all the CAD drawings and 3D prints, while Jeff kept on brainstorming ideas, playing the different versions with others, getting feedback and continual developing ideas to make the game better.
Today, PlungeBucket is a reality and is one of the most fun, challenging and refreshingly different games you can play! We hope you have as much fun as Jeff, Hoyt and everyone else!!
multiple meet-ups
Hoyt & Jeff would meet in parking lots all over the city to transfer new iterations and discuss changes and additions to the game. Then go back. Then meet up again!
endless iterations
Jeff & Hoyt tested so many different designs to make it right. And created a variety of 3D printed parts, or metal & wood to test and note needed the changes.
RELENTLESS DESIGNING
Hoyt used his engineering background to adjust every aspect of the PB Connector to produce a viable and structural product. A lot of it was done during the pandemic, so we had some limitations.
continuous idea development
Jeff has an ongoing passion to continually make PlungeBucket more fun! With fun logo designs, accessories and new ways to play...the goal has always been to keeps improving the product!
